Categories

The ECO Award is a global award given yearly by the Global Community for achievements in several categories.

We reward 'soft global activism' with relevant scientific efforts and journalism reporting in the different categories. The end product is all about educating ourselves and the public to give humanity, all life on Earth, a better future.

The ECO Award for the business category was the very first award given in 2004 by the ECO Award Committee of the Global Community. It was the first award ever given by the Committee.

379	Under the present regime of governance ruled by a few elites whose only goal is the acquisition of wealth for themselves, these elites monopolized the means of production, the global economy, financial institutions such as banks, the IMF and the World Bank, and they also monopolized culture and education through the media industry which they own. People of the developing countries and middle class people of the developed countries now live in extreme poverty and are not guaranteed even the basic right of subsistence and freedom, let alone the right to enjoy modern science, technology, culture and education.
380	Truly, the US financial crisis had an early beginning in 1945 when a few elites from the White House, war industry, the military and Christian right decided to build the most powerful military organization in the world at the expenses of American taxpayers, mostly from the middle class, and at the expenses of the global environment and all life on Earth. Greed and wants of the rich elite had no limits, and that has caused and created a huge deficit and national debt to Americans. On September 15, 2008, the world witnessed the beginning of the collapse of Wall Street, but Americans were already bankrupted on that day. The astronomically high military expenditures caused America to be bankrupted. The love-relationship Americans have with their military was not to be blamed for the collapse, and so Wall Street and financial institutions took all the blame. Even Main Street was accused of wrong doing. But not the military!?!!
381	The US market took a great hit and pulled the global markets down. The US-style de-regulated corporate capitalism thrives on empowering the most powerful and enriching the richest. Power and wealth never percolates down to the ordinary people, the middle class. The few elites from the G8 nations have allowed a de-regulated Wall Street to collapse on its own and swapping off most people savings in the process, pension funds, and retirement funds. Millions of people lost their homes.
382	EU President-in-Office Sarkozy and US Administration have proposed a series of summits on global governance, starting in November, involving first the G8 and then adding the G5, and G20. They are proposing the creation of a "new global financial system" or "new Bretton Woods". The aim must be to "overhaul capitalism", not "by questioning the idea of a market economy" but observing certain principles. If our world leaders, the few elites, have their way again, the world will have some sort of expanded WTO, NAFTA, or G8 nations with an unlimited power over the economies of the world. A world anti-government! No less! If we believe the EU and G8 leaders, the world will become a large casino playground with principles. NATO will be asked to protect such a system. A new world order! Governance at its best! Money is all that counts! The big corporate rulers, the war industry, and Christian right will be fully protected.
383	Global revolution started. The Global Community was created by the people, for the all life on Earth. Global concepts were researched and developed, Earth activities were organized, global law and regulations were developed to protect humanity, ecosystems and global life-support systems. In April 2008, a planetary state of emergency was declared by the Global Community Peace Movement to make the world aware of the global crisis. Shortly afterward the Global Movement to Help was organized to serve and help people from all nations, all life on Earth. A long-term solution was also proposed in the form of the Federation of Global Governments.

387	The military is no replacement to the " will of the people ", democracy, the rule of law, social justice, and to Global Rights and Global Justice. The Global Community has no need of a subversive military force. NATO must be subject to the people, the Global Community, and to the Federation of Global Governments.
388	When you associate yourself with the USA, through NATO, a nation that has created a link in a 737-strong chain of American military bases in 130 countries, you become one of them. Those military bases are there for many reasons. They are mainly there for resources. They are also there to invade, destroy, kill, corrupt governments, and de-stabilize the world. The Earth cannot afford to be subject to NATO systematic destruction of life on the planet.
389	Bush stood for the following state of affairs. The White House is the war industry HQ, NATO. Oh boy do we ever sell armaments here, and WMDs. Let us kick the Russians and Chineses around so we get more money for our Big Businesses, not for the average Americans . We are masters in de-stabilizing nations. So our military has bankrupted the economy, so what ! Bloody good for Republicans, my big business friends. So the Earth is being destroyed in the process, so what ! So the next generations wont have a future, so what ! So Christ said not to kill , so what ! War for oil and oil for war is all I want in life. Well!! As long as the average American taxpayers pay for the military huge expenditures and for consequences of invading nations, and as long as I make lots of money. Do you get it now!?
390	NATO wants all member nations to be just the same: killers, invaders, above the law and Justice, pollute and destroy the environment and global life-support systems, and leave no chance of survival to the next generations.
391	NATO wants democracy but that is really a line to confuse people; the reality is that NATO's HQ is the White House, and we all know how the expenditures of its military has bankrupted the American economy in favor of the Big Corporations. Every child born in America will never be able to pay off the debt and always suffer consequences of the White House taste of blood resources for its rich corporate people.
392	NATO is a killing machine; it kills indistincly children, women or freedom fighters who dont agree being invaded. The invasion of Afghanistan by the White House and other NATO nations has been flawed from the start. The Afghan freedom fighters are the same people who help the USA fight the Russians during the Cold War. They do not want invaders, Russians, Americans, or any other invaders, to be in their country. They took their message to America on 9/11. Osama bin Laden and the Taliban, often called Al Qua'ida 'terrorists', are mostly young civilians who are ready to fight back by becoming suicide bombers.
393	NATO is not the HQ of the war industry, the White House is. NATO war machine creates astronomical quantities of green gases which themselves create global warming, climate change, floods and forest fires worldwide, deadly tornadoes, and lost of land all over the planet. NATO submarines made nuclear explosion tests at the bottom of the Indian ocean that created the 2004 tsunami wave. Just a test, said the captain of the submarine that did it. The United States is the only nation that would profit from the melting of the North Pole and is capable of such an extreme action against humanity and all life on Earth by exploding nuclear bombs to melt glaciers and North Pole Cap. The melting of the North Pole will uncover land and ocean water and allow for the harvesting of resources, especially oil and gas.
394	NATO members think of themselves as above the law and that Justice does not apply to them; they ljve in a constant chaotic state of hate, bullying, planning fear in communities, destructive instinct.
395	NATO says to the world you are either with us or against us; if you are with us let the USA build a military base in your country, and you must buy armaments from the US; if you are against us we will bomb your communities.
396	The winner is NATO, that is the : war industry, White House, big corporate rulers, and Christian right (but they all wrong).
397	The Global Community has established a planetary biodiversity zone now under the protection of the Global Protection Agency (GPA). We have declared a moratorium on all development in the zone, including all drilling, military testing, and any other destructive uses of the ecosystems. The planetary biodiversity zone includes : North Pole region South Pole region all oceans all forests all lakes all rivers and connecting streams all wetlands and grasslands living organisms and ecosystems in all of the above The people of all nations are required to respect the moratorium until global law has been completed to include regulations to be enforced by the GPA.
