I have received an email from our colleage Dr. Leo Rebello requesting to send him material, project, program, activism work, petition signing, or anything related to our Global Community Peace Movement website, to Peace, and we are all in this together and should participate in his work. For decades now, the Global Community has been conducting activism work for Peace in the world and now is the time to tell what we have done. The Global Movement to Help essential services certainly qualifies as such activities for Peace in the world. Many of our initiatives and activities such as:

Cultural Appreciation Day celebration August 22
Global Dialogue
Global sustainability
Recommendations to humanity
What Peace amongst nations means?
PETITION TO SAVE THE PLANET
and the writing of poems, articles, and papers for Peace.

also qualify.

Please do read Dr. Leo Rebello's message and contact him for more details. I personally will send him my contribution before the end of February as per his request. I urge you all to do the same. Perhaps the Cercle Univ. Ambassadeurs de la Paix organization could send this message and make a formal request to its membership to send their work to Dr. Leo Rebello? Guy CREQUIE can you ask Mme Gabrielle SIMOND to see to that? We should all be part of a worldwide movement for Peace and participate all together to tell the world, the Global Community, how things can work well in a world where Peace is found in all its forms.

Love and light

From: "Dr. Leo Rebello" prof.leorebello@gmail.com
To: globalcommunity@telus.net

Dear Germain :

Thanks for your comprehensive newsletter in which you have included my letter on Gandhi Peace Prize.

Presently, I am working on a historic book WORLD WITHOUT WARS, to be released during the 90-day, 90-nation Global March for Peace and Non-Violence, which will start in New Zealand on 2nd Oct. 2009 and end in Argentina on 2nd Jan. 2010.

I invite you to write a full paper on HOW TO CREATE THIS WORLD WITHOUT WARS, for inclusion in the said book, which will be translated simultaneously in major languages of the world.

Guidelines for writing Some analysis why people go to wars is okay. But more importantly we need to discuss solutions on which the present and future leaders can work till we have a World Without Wars.

In addition, you and members of our Global Community can also send me appropriate Poems, Cartoons, paintings, etc. for inclusion. Brief CV with passport size photo is also required for inclusion.

There is no word limit, but the ideas/guidelines/plans should be comprehensive and enforceable. Please send your article / essay by February end.

Thanks and Best, Leo

Yes We Can Save The Planet

by Dr Michael Ellis and Anna Kumashov

We are facing the dire consequences of ecological collapse, Climate change, water scarcity, extinction of biodiversity and over population.

In the past 20 million years, the carbon dioxide content of the biosphere has been 300 ppm. Only in the past hundred years has the carbon dioxide reached 370 ppm. The question is whether this change may react in such a way that it becomes a tipping point for extreme disaster.

In 1930, the population of the planet was2 billion. In 2000. It was 6 billion. In 2020. It will be 8 billion

There is massive, inequity in distribution of world income. A living wage in San Francisco, is $96 a day. Poverty in the US is defined as, $12 a day. 60% of people in the world live on less than three dollars a day and they cannot afford any of the economic material luxury goods, which the current global economy thrives on.

40% of people by 2020 will not have enough water to live on and 95% of people in the world are predicted to be living in urban situations.

It is predicted that oil will peak by 2010. Oil is the source for growing food and fertilisers and plastics etc,. Because of this, the poorest people in the world will not be able to sell sufficient goods to survive.

We are in phase six of biodiversity, mass extinction. Within 20 years, 20% of biodiversity will be extinct and 50% by 100 years. This makes the biosphere, unsustainable. We are looking towards a whole systems crisis within 20 years, unless we get our act together fast.

The structure of the political system is changing, due to the rapid change in the nature of information now available andthe fact that individuals have a greater say in what they want. Individuals, therefore, need to be educated, and there needs to be greater emphasis on holistic education and holistic health. Economic rationalism per se does not work in a global milieu which does not have infinite resources.

Peace needs to be emphasised above all else, because the greatest threat to our extinction as a species is aggressive competition and war. There are still 40,000 nuclear weapons in the world, and we completely forget about this., when we talk about climate change.

The big change occurring, which seems to be ignored., generally, is the coming together of science and religion. It is now proven scientifically, that Human consciousness has a profound effect on the environment, as well as on society. The experiments done are more valid and more stringent than any medical double-blind trial, you will see for example in The New England Journal of Medicine.

For humanity , to survive a greater emphasis needs to be on decentralized representation, and a transnational representation of the voices of the Global community of people who in their billions are crying out for change

The creation of Ministries and Commissions for peace throughout the World would be a tremendous advance for global society, in rapid transformation and change

Only by expressing in every way the new paradigm based on interrelationship, interdependency and cooperation amongst all humanity regardless of race, creed, culture or belief system can we hope to reverse the trend of global degradation and demise

Gandhi Peace Prize instituted by India

Dear Germain and Virginie:

This email is only to salute you for all your work and to say that I am with you in your grandiose world plan in tune with god-wisdom. In fact, this newsletter of yours is the best and if I was the selector of Nobel Prize for Peace, you would have got it without any questions asked for all your outstanding work and original contribution. But you know how Nobel Prizes are manipulated and cornered by the Jews. I have visited the Nobel Foundation, spent half a day there, and studied their decisions and analysed their award winners. On second thought, you better not have that tainted award. I shall recommend you for the Gandhi Peace Prize instituted by India.

The Divine Love in 2009

Beloved Friends,

In every moment and with each breath we take we have choice. We can witness the beauty, grandness and perfection that always surround us, or we can identify with a perception that somehow things are not as they should be. Either way, we get to make the distinction personally. Such is the amazing power each of us wields.

When we choose from our heart and with loving, self conscious awareness of the oneness that connects us all, we fashion reality to its greatest heights. And when we forget this loving connection to ourselves and with each other, we filter and react to our world with anger, hatred, greed and contempt. Each is ultimately just a perspective of a greater whole and merely represents a momentary reflection of how we see ourselves.

Through the simple recognition that our thoughts and feelings are the key to what we choose, we instantly connect with our potential. When we are present in the moment, our spiritual, mental, emotional and physical aspects converge together into a single consciousness, and when we align our awareness with our innate wisdom and combine it with our deepest love, we are powerful beyond measure. This triune activity of love, wisdom and power, held in perfect balance, is what we have come here to express at this time on our wondrous planet – it is unconditional love in action.

Never before have so many people simultaneously awakened to realize and remember not only their heritage… but also their destiny. We are at a crossroads of reality and before us we have the opportunity to restore our own connection to the divine nature within; the boundless love that flows from our heart.

Against the present backdrop of a reality that appears to be in conflict and chaos, each of us can choose to see beyond the limitation and activate the splendor of love that connects us all. It is our collective moment to accept and be the expression of this love through its many qualities, and to joyfully come from our heart in each moment.

Humanity awaits your courage to be the first to forgive, the first to embody peace, and the first to reveal the potential of love in all things. With dignity, integrity and strength beyond measure, walk this year as if life itself depended upon your love and the divine in 2009 will become a reality for all.

Love, light and peace,

by Michael T. Klare
Tomdispatch.com., published in AlterNet: The Mix is the Message, Environment

Oil costs a third of what it did in July, and prices keep dropping. That may seem like a godsend now, but we'll pay through the nose later.

Low prices, as at present, are bad for producers, and so will hurt a number of countries that the US government considers hostile, including Venezuela, Iran and even that natural-gas-and-oil giant Russia. All of them have, in recent years, used their soaring oil income to finance political endeavors considered inimical to US interests. However, dwindling prices could also shake the very foundations of oil allies like Mexico, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, which could experience internal unrest as oil revenues, and so state expenditures, decline. No less important, diminished oil prices discourage investment in complex oil ventures like deep-offshore drilling, as well as investment in the development of alternatives to oil like advanced (non-food) biofuels. Perhaps most disastrously, in a cheap oil moment, investment in non-polluting, non-climate-altering alternatives like solar, wind and tidal energy is also likely to dwindle. In the longer term, what this means is that, once a global economic recovery begins, we can expect a fresh oil price shock as future energy options prove painfully limited. The upsurge in Chinese consumption, combined with unremitting demand from older industrialized nations and significant price speculation on oil futures, largely explained the astronomical way prices were driven up until last summer. But with the Chinese economy visibly faltering, such projections no longer seem valid. Many analysts now predict that a sharp drop-off in Chinese demand will only accelerate the downward journey of global energy prices. Under these conditions, an early price turnaround appears increasingly unlikely. At present, the world enjoys the (relatively) unfamiliar prospect of a global oil-production surplus, but there's a problematic aspect to this. As long as prices remain low, oil companies have no incentive to invest in costly new production ventures, which means no new capacity is being added to global inventories, while available capacity continues to be drained. Simply put, what this means is that, when demand begins to surge again, global output is likely to prove inadequate. Most "easy oil" reservoirs have now been exhausted, which means that virtually all remaining global reserves are going to be of the "tough oil" variety. These require extraction technology far too costly to be profitable at a moment when the per barrel price remains under $50. Principal among these are exploitation of the tar sands of Canada and of deep offshore fields in the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf of Guinea and waters off Brazil. While such potential reserves undoubtedly harbor significant supplies of petroleum, they won't return a profit until the price of oil reaches $80 or more per barrel -- nearly twice what it is fetching today. Under these circumstances, it is hardly surprising that the oil majors are canceling or postponing plans for new projects in Canada and these offshore locations. While competition among consuming states may lessen, negative political conditions within producing nations are sure to be magnified. Many of these nations, including Angola, Iran, Iraq, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, among others, rely on income from oil exports for a large part of their government expenditures, using this money to finance health and education, infrastructure improvements, food and energy subsidies and social welfare programs. Soaring energy prices, for instance, allowed many producer countries to reduce high youth unemployment -- and so potential unrest. As prices come crashing down, governments are already being forced to cut back on programs that aid the poor, the middle class and the unemployed, which is already producing waves of instability in many parts of the world. Plunging oil prices are also expected to place severe strains on the governments of Iran, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, all of which benefited from the record prices of the past few years to finance public works, subsidize basic necessities and generate employment. Like Russia, these countries adopted expansive budgets on the assumption that a world of $70 or more per barrel gas prices would continue indefinitely. Now, like other affected producers, they must dip into accumulated reserves, borrow at a premium, and cut back on social spending -- all of which risk a rise in political opposition and unrest at home.

How to overcome the global crisis?
by
Leslaw Michnowski
The Sustainable Development Global Information Society website is managed by Leslaw Michnowski www.psl.org.pl/kte/artlm.htm

The world is in the open phase of global crisis. We are standing in front of :

(A) new world war;
(B) "soft" continuation of social-Darwinistic social relations - in the quite new (high science and technology supported, most probably global Orwellian totalitarian) its pathological form;
(C) sustainable development of the world society, conditioned upon ecohumanistic transformation (including creation of the new economy with possibility to account complex costs and effects and stimulate creative – cognitive and innovative - activity directed on common good).

Ecohumanism is a partnership-based co-operation for the common good of all people (rich and poor, from countries highly developed and behind in development), their descendants, and natural environment - commonly supported by science and high technology (including information culture).

It is impossible to overcome global crisis by the (A) or (B) ways. We have to overthrow "zero growth" defense strategy (A. Merkel, WEF, Davos 2007). We have to substitute entrepreneurial capitalism for speculative capitalism (N, Sarcozy, EU Summit 10.2008, B. Gates, WEF Davos 2008). We need creative, ecosocial useful capitalism – i.e. ecosocial free market economy (GMPI)

To achieve above we ought to support G. Brown‘s proposal: GLOBAL EARLY WARNING SYSTEM. But this information system building should be only the first step of creation of world information system for sustainable development policy and economy.

To avoid global catastrophe we need especially – as soon as possible - to elaborate, adopt and enforce UN program of sustainable development information bases creation. The two important world anticrisis events will be hold in the 2009 year:

I - G20 (London, April 2nd);
II – UN General Assembly.
Therefore we propose to try to include into programs of both above events our strategic proposal: TO START TO CREATE THE WORLD INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT POLICY AND ECONOMY.

Without that information system all of the main UN tasks: MDGs, ("three pillars") sustainable development of the world society, fair globalization, sustained economic growth, decoupling economy growth and resources depletion - are not possible to achieve.

US Senate Endorses Israel's War On Gaza
by Jeremy R. Hammond
Countercurrents.org, Foreign Policy Journal
The US Senate on Thursday passed a non-binding resolution promoted by the influential Israeli lobby AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee), effectively endorsing Israel’s war on Gaza. The resolution, entitled “A resolution expressing solidarity with Israel in Israel’s defense against terrorism in the Gaza Strip” recognizes “the right of Israel to defend itself against attacks from Gaza” and reaffirms “the United States’ strong support for Israel in its battle with Hamas”. The resolution does not recognize the right to self-defense of the Palestinian people. It makes no mention of Israel’s continuing settlement expansion in the West Bank, also in violation of the Quartet requirements. Nor does it call upon Israel, which illegally occupies the West Bank and has held Gaza under siege for three years, to recognize the “right to exist” of a Palestinian state or to renounce violence. It makes no mention of the fact that Hamas had strictly observed the cease-fire until it was violated by Israel on November 4, when Israel launched an airstrike into Gaza that killed 5 and injured several others. The resolution notes that “the humanitarian situation in Gaza, including shortages of food, water, electricity, and adequate medical care, is becoming more acute”. It neglects to point out that this is the direct result of Israel’s policy of blockading Gaza, and that the humanitarian crisis has been greatly exacerbated by Israel’s aerial bombardment and invasion of Gaza, instead praising the minimal amount of humanitarian aid Israel has allowed into the territory. “Wake up America. We have trillions for a war machine and the banks while our government stands by and sniffs at the slaughter of innocents in Gaza, where Israel is blocking aid for wounded Palestinians. Here’s today’s Washington Post. It says, ‘The International Committee of the Red Cross said Thursday that it found at least 15 bodies and several children emaciated but alive in a row of shattered houses in the Gaza Strip and accused the Israeli military of preventing ambulances from reaching the site for 4 days. 12 corpses lying on mattresses in one home, along with 4 young children lying next to their dead mothers.’ That’s a quote. Today, US tax dollars, US jets, and US helicopters provided to Israel are enabling the slaughter in Gaza. The administration enables Israel to press forward with the attack against defenseless civilians, blocks efforts at promoting a cease-fire at the UN, and refuses to make Israel compliant with conditions that arms shipments will not be used for aggression. Israel is going to receive $30 billion in a ten year period for military assistance, without having to abide by any humanitarian principles, international laws, or standards of basic human decency. Wake up America.”

20 Ways To Save Mother Earth And Prevent Environmental Disaster
by Evo Morales, President of Bolivia
Countercurrents.org
Global warming is generating abrupt changes in the weather: the retreat of glaciers and the decrease of the polar ice caps; the increase of the sea level and the flooding of coastal areas, where approximately 60% of the world population live; the increase in the processes of desertification and the decrease of fresh water sources; a higher frequency in natural disasters that the communities of the earth suffer[1]; the extinction of animal and plant species; and the spread of diseases in areas that before were free from those diseases. One of the most tragic consequences of the climate change is that some nations and territories are the condemned to disappear by the increase of the sea level. Competition and the thirst for profit without limits of the capitalist system are destroying the planet. Under Capitalism we are not human beings but consumers. Under Capitalism Mother Earth does not exist, instead there are raw materials. Capitalism is the source of the asymmetries and imbalances in the world. It generates luxury, ostentation and waste for a few, while millions in the world die from hunger in the world. In the hands of capitalism everything becomes a commodity: the water, the soil, the human genome, the ancestral cultures, justice, ethics, death … and life itself. Everything, absolutely everything, can be bought and sold and under capitalism. And even “climate change” itself has become a business. Climate change has placed all humankind before a great choice: to continue in the ways of capitalism and death, or to start down the path of harmony with nature and respect for life. The market mechanisms applied in the developing countries[2] have not accomplished a significant reduction of greenhouse effect gas emissions. Just as well as the market is incapable of regulating global financial and productive system, the market is unable to regulate greenhouse effect gas emissions and will only generate a big business for financial agents and major corporations. The Earth is much more important than the stock exchanges of Wall Street and the world. Humankind is capable of saving the Earth if we recover the principles of solidarity, complementarity and harmony with nature in contraposition to the reign of competition, profits and rampant consumption of natural resources.

published in AlterNet: The Mix is the Message, Environment

We've got to think about our choices for the future collectively, seeking cooperation rather than competition.

There is an emergency. In less than a decade we will have to change course -- assuming the collapse of the U.S. economy or the explosion of the Middle East does not impose a change through chaos. To confront the emergency, we must understand the objective: to achieve a sober society; to plot out the way there; to accomplish this transformation equitably, by first making those with the most carry the burden within and between societies; to take inspiration from collective values ascribed to here in France by our nation's motto: "Liberty, ecology, fraternity." The third, wobbly force is the left. Since its social-democratic component became its center of gravity, it has abandoned any ambition of transforming the world. The compromise with free-market liberalism has led the left to so totally adopt the values of free-market liberalism that it no longer dares -- except in the most cautious terms -- to deplore social inequality. On top of that, the left displays an almost cartoonish refusal to truly engross itself in environmental issues. The left will be reborn by uniting the causes of inequality and the environment -- or, unfit, it will disappear in the general disorder that will sweep it and everything else away. The somewhat successful, although still incomplete, battle in Europe against GMOs, the international community's continuance of the Kyoto Protocol in 2001 despite the United States' withdrawal, the refusal by the peoples of Europe to participate in the invasion of Iraq in 2003, and the general recognition of the urgency of climate-change challenge are signs that the wind of the future has begun to blow. Despite the scale of the challenges that await us, solutions are emerging and -- faced with the sinister prospects the oligarchs promote -- the desire to remake the world is being reborn.

 November 14, 2008   Are Human Beings Hard-Wired to Ignore the Threat of Catastrophic Climate Change?
by Lisa Bennett Greater Good
http://www.alternet.org/authors/10068/,
published in AlterNet: The Mix is the Message, Environment

Climate scientists wonder why people don't do more about global warming. Social scientists have some troubling answers.

Why don't more of us respond more seriously to the most serious threat to the planet in human history?

But most of us do not rely on our analytic abilities to evaluate the risk of global warming-or any risk, for that matter. Instead, we rely on the second and more common way of perceiving risk: our emotions. Emotions, more than anything else, are what motivate us to act. As decades of behavioral decision research has shown, most people have to feel a risk before they do something about it. In this way, our limited response to global warming is similar to our limited response to mass murder or genocide. Like genocide, the long-term consequences of global warming are so enormous we can't wrap our heads around them. Scientists predict in 40 years global warming will displace 20 million people from Beijing, 40 million from Shanghai and surrounding areas, and 60 million from Calcutta and Bangladesh. These statistics are daunting, but they're abstract; they don't inspire us to feel for the one individual whose life will be put at risk. As a result, we fail to take appropriate action. And as with others, so with ourselves: It is emotions, such as fear or worry, that motivate us to protect ourselves from risk. With global warming, this presents an even more challenging situation. The fact that global warming appears to represent a hazard of nature also leads people to underestimate the risk. A third obstacle that limits people's response to global warming-and even their willingness to believe in it-is also one of the most intractable. In a series of recent studies, a group of scholars from Yale and other universities have been studying how cultural values shape our perceptions of risk. Based on the premise that Americans are culturally polarized on a range of societal risks, from global warming to gun control. People may simply reject evidence that clashes with their worldview. To a certain extent our attitude toward risk and behaviors are conditioned not just by the raw facts of the matter, but by the orientation that we have to the world. In the case of global warming, researchers found two general worldviews that seemed to have the most significant influence on perception and action. One group consists of egalitarians, or people who prefer a society where wealth, power, and opportunity are broadly distributed. Researchers called the other group the hierarchists, those who prefer a society that is linear in its structure, with leaders on top and followers below. What we've seen through this research is that egalitarians are generally more concerned about environmental risks over a range of hazards, including global warming. Hierarchists tend to be less concerned.

Communication about global warming needs to reach people's emotions and trigger fear, and that means emphasizing the dramatic consequences to come. Also, people need to be offered a set of actions they can take to combat global warming.

Message from the Editor

The Editor of the Global Information Media is now accepting articles, letters, reports, research papers, discussions and global dialogues, and messages for publication. This Media is a way to communicate workable sound solutions to problems arising in the world. Let us share our problems and workable sound solutions. Sharing information is a necessity to all life and humanity's survival. Our world is changing fast before our eyes, and we must react quickly and hard to protect all life on Earth. No hesitation! Right now and no waiting! Life on the planet is our first priority. We must protect it at all costs. We, global citizens, fight to protect life on Earth for this generation and the next ones. We are the defenders of the environment and the global life-support systems. We know who the beasts are, and how they destroy the living on our planet. We have rallied together all over the world to protect our home, Earth. But this time we are not alone. We know it all! We know how everything works. And we will do whatever it takes to protect life on Earth. "We the Peoples", the Global Community, are the Earth revolutionaries, and we will protect life on Earth at all costs.

This is the main index for the Global Information Media (GIM) concerning activities of the Global Community.

GIM was organized with more than sixty sections. Each section allows everyone to participate in the Global Dialogue. You pick an issue, and you participate. All sections may contain any of the following information: abstracts, research papers, notes, outlines, videos and other works of art, posters, articles, letters, press releases, reports, and newsletters. They may also contain discussions, global dialogues, brain-storming exercises on issues, or just email messages from interested participants and groups.

We are delighted to receive new articles for future Newsletters from our readers. It is imperative that, if you give us permission to re-print, all or in part, you include all copyright verification of permission of quote. We do not have a copyright research expert to do this work.

Just so you all know we don't pay anyone, and we don't pay expenses. We do volunteer work for humanity. We expect volunteers to be responsible and accountable of all their actions. We do soft activism work. The Global Constitution shows us how to operate our organization. We follow Global Law as shown in the Global Constitution. All those who do volunteer work for us must become familliar with it and become 'global citizens'. We want our volunteers to be completely loyal to the Global Community and to the values and principles we promote.

The Editor.

Message from the Spiritual Leader of the Global Community

The world is in a state of perpetual turmoil. We are worlds within worlds orbiting in and through each other’s space. Our interactions with one another can be planned and executed in a caring, considerate manner so that all may exist and not destroy the other.

A good place to start this day would be to see the people living in far away places as we see our neighbors. Neighbors are people we should see as people very much like ourselves. Love your neighbors as yourself. Many scientists have shown that our genetic make-up as human beings are not that much different than that of many other life-forms. The reality is that we as people are not that much different from one another. Our education and upbringings are different and created cultural and religious differences. Conflicts originate often because of these cultural and religious differences.

My teaching for the day is to make the effort to understand what make us different from one another and find a way to appreciate those differences. We also have to make the effort of understanding other life-forms in Nature and appreciate the differences. Because of brain capacity, we dont expect other life-forms of understanding us, but we do have a moral responsibility of understanding them and appreciate the differences. God loves diversity in Nature and in Souls. God loves good Souls from all cultures and religions, and from all life. Yes there is a Soul in every living life-form and God loves them too.

Message from the President of Earth Government

As a first step to getting help, all nations can and should approve those first three sections on the Scale of Global Rights. Scale of Global Rights The approval would supersede the political and physical borders of participating member nations. The Global Protection Agency (GPA) would have the approval from all member nations to give immediate help, bypassing normal government protocols. Somewhat like an emergency unit but at the global level. That is what those first three sections mean. They represent an efficient and immediate emergency response to help.

First, participating member nations need to give their approval to the Global Protection Agency ( GPA).

The GPA is a global organization much like the World Trade Organization (WTO) for trade between nations, the World Health Organization (WHO) for health, or the European Union, North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), South American Community of Nations (SACON) for trade and economics. The GPA offers an efficient emergency response to help. The GPA is a short term solution, an immediate and efficient response to help.

There are also long term solutions. As with the short term solution, the most significant long term solution is also related to the Scale of Global Rights. The Scale was entrenched in the Global Constitution and is thus the fundamental guide to Global Law. Now the Scale of Global Rights is a long term solution and is also a part of the Global Movement to Help of the Global Community. The Scale was designed to help all life on Earth. What would be preferable is that nations unite amongst themselves to help.

Over time, we have seen the creation of the United Nations, the European Union, the South American Community of Nations, and the North American Free Trade Agreement. Except for the UN, these organizations are mainly concerned with trade and economics. The Global Community offers a more meaningful union in the form of nine or more Global Governments. For instance the South American Community of Nations can be a Global Government by simply accepting the Global Constitution as a way of dealing between member nations. A Global Government is concerned not only with economics and trade, but also with the environment, health, agriculture, energy, food, social, cultural and many other essential aspects. The Federation of Global Governments is the place of meeting between Global Governments. The very first step of the Federation, and maybe the only one for several decades ahead of us, would be the approval of essential services amongst the participating member nations. The Global Community has researched and developed such services and listed them here. All of them are already in operation on a small scale.

I believe that there is no greater task in the world today than for the Global Community to proceed through the maturation of its leadership, emerging from a more self-interested adolescence as a global leader into a nobler adulthood. We have the potential to act as a torchbearer for a better tomorrow. Do we heed the call? I hope this message has convinced many international organizations and the millions of people who have been with us over the past decades, that the question of how to proceed with that maturation is of far deeper significance than the reforming of the United Nations. In fact the United Nations should not be reformed it should be replaced by the Federation. I thus pray that we move with wisdom, grace, clarity, and love in the days, years, and even decades ahead.

Celebration of Life Day on May 26

On May 26, 2008, the Global Community has asked all Peoples of the world to participate in this celebration of Life in your own community. The following project was appropriate to everyone.

From the experience in your life and local community tell us:

*    Why are you important to this "Global Community"?
*    Why is it important to you?
*    What do you like about it?
*    What bothers you about it?
*    Anything need to be done?
*    What is really good there?
*     What is very very important?
*     What is not so important?
*     What is not good?
*     What is needed to keep the good things?
*     What could make them even better?
*     What could you do to keep the good things good?
*     Could they help get rid of bad things?
*     What unimportant things need to go?
*     How could you help get rid of these things?

to sustain Earth, humanity and all life.

Please send us the following information:

1.     What are the most important issues that would allow your community become more sustainable? Over the past several years, many communities have held Life Day dialogues to determine the answer to this question. We look forward to hearing from all of you.

2.     A brief story of success in your community from the last 10 years in regard to a sound sustainable development.

3.     A picture related to the above or to a Life Day event.

4.     A sample of your idea of the Earth Flag.

We will gather this information from groups all over the world and compile it into a comprehensive report. Your work will be shown during the new Global Dialogue 2006. Please mail or email your ideas, pictures and descriptions, Earth Flag samples to:

Celebration of Life Day

On May 26, as part of the Global Community Peace Movement, the Human Family,we will be rejoicing with all Peoples of the world , and all life, for the annual Celebration of Life Day. Life is the most precious gift ever given by God to the universe and this event needs to be celebrated.

At the early stage of the formation of the Earth, and a while later, all the conditions for the formation of life were present, and life was created to better serve God. Life was made of matter and every particle of that matter had a Soul that merged with all the others. A Soul is a part of the Spirit of God, His consciousness, and is a living, loving presence, a Being. A Soul can merge with other Souls and become one Soul, and it can evolve as well. The first spark of life was the cause for the formation of a unique and independent Soul to better serve God. Throughout the different evolutionary stages of life on Earth, Souls have guided the step-by-step evolution of life and kept merging with one another to better serve God. They guided the evolutionary process in small, incremental ways over a period of several billion years. Many groupings of Souls became more complex than others as they were much brighter beings than other groupings, but all serve God in their own special way.

One unique and most wonderful grouping was the grouping that made the Human Soul. God loves the human Souls a lot because of their wonderful qualities. Over the past thousands of years, through their Souls human beings became conscious of God in many different ways. Religions of all kinds started to spread on Earth to adore God and pray. Different groupings of Souls affected human beings in different ways and Peoples today have different religious beliefs. God is like a river feeding plentifully and bountifully all lifeforms and plants. There are many pathways leading to the river. They are God's pathways. God loves diversity in Nature and in Souls. God loves good Souls from all religions.

Different religions have different ways to love, adore and pray to God. And God's Heaven exists. Heaven on Earth is different from God's Heaven. To be in Heaven with God will mean a Soul has left the matter of the universe forever to enter God's Heaven.

The Divine Will or Will of God is the most powerful force of the universe and is pure spiritual energy. The Will of God is for life to reach God, God’s Pure Light, in the best possible ways. Life is the building block through which Souls can have a meaningful relationship with God. By observing the Universe, the galaxies, we are observing and studying God. We are seeing His magnificence, His greatness, and His complex making. There is more to the Universe we observe today, that is, there is more to God, much more. God is self-existent, eternal and infinite in space and time. Follow God's Word. God's Plan was revealed to humanity a short while ago.

The Divine Plan for humanity is:

a)     for everyone to manage Earth responsibly, and
b)     about to reach the stars and spread Life throughout the universe and thus help other Souls to evolve and serve God in the best possible ways.

Humanity’s higher purpose is to serve God by propagating life throughout the universe. Humanity will evolve spiritually to fulfill God's Plan. The human species has reached a point in its evolution where it knows its survival is being challenged. The human species knows through the Souls and now that all human Souls have merged together and formed the Soul of Humanity, we will find it easier to fight for our own survival. The Soul of Humanity does not make decisions for us and can only help us understand and guide us on the way. In the past, human beings have had some kind of symbiotical relationship (which is something common in Nature between lifeforms in an ecosystem) with the Souls, and now with the Soul of Humanity. We work together for both our survival and well-being. Cooperation and symbiosis between lifeforms (especially human beings) on Earth and between lifeforms and their Souls and the Soul of Humanity have become a necessity of life. We help one another, joint forces, and accomplish together what we cannot accomplish separately. Several billion years ago this symbiosis between matter and Souls resulted in the making of complex biochemical systems. Symbiosis has worked throughout the evolution of life on Earth and today, the Soul of Humanity has decided to be more active with humanity by purifying Souls. The Soul of Humanity shows us the way to better serve God.

The Soul of Humanity is helping to bring about the event of Peace in the world. Knowing that Earth is a spiritual entity as well as a physical entity in space and time in the universe we begin to have a better relationship with Earth and with all its living inhabitants. This way Earth management will become a spiritual and a natural process whereby each person is responsible and accountable for its management the best they can. Peace in the world and Earth management have for too long been in the hands of and affected by government and business leaders, in the hands of a few people on the planet, as opposed to being in the hands of all of us (7 billion people on Earth) working together to keep our planet healthy. We are the keepers of the Earth.

The Soul of Humanity will help us:

*     resolve problems, concerns and issues peacefully;
*     reinstate the respect for Earth;
*     work with humanity to keep Earth healthy, productive and hospitable for all people and living things;
*     bring forth a sustainable global society embracing universal values related to human and Earth rights, economic and social justice; respect of nature, peace, responsibility to one another;
*     protect the global life-support systems and manage Earth;
*     evolve spiritually to fulfill God’s Plan; and
*     enter God’s Heaven, His Spirit, His Pure Light, His universal mind and global consciousness.

We have the responsibility of managing Earth. Everyone shares responsibility for the present and future well-being of life within the Global Community. When there is a need to find a solution to a problem or a concern, a sound solution would be to choose a measure or conduct an action, if possible, which causes reversible damage as oppose to a measure or an action causing an irreversible loss.

Life exists on millions of other planets in the universe and our species got to be who we are today through the evolutionary process. Other lifeforms in the universe may have evolved to be at least as advanced as our species. Their Souls may even be more complicated than ours. They may have merged a trillion times more than the human Souls. They may have evolved as well.

We the Peoples of the Global Community, the Human Family, are reaffirming faith in the fundamental human and Earth rights, the Scale of Human and Earth Rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small. We the Peoples implies every individual on Earth, every community and every nation. Earth management is now a priority and a duty of every responsible person on Earth. The Global Community has taken action by calling the Divine Will into our lives and following its guidance. Divine Will is now a part of the Soul of Humanity to be used for the higher purpose of good and life's evolution. We will learn to serve humanity and radiate the Will of God to others.

As never before in history, common destiny beckons us to seek a new beginning. This requires a change of mind and heart, and calling Divine Will to come into our life to show us the way. It requires a new sense of global interdependence and universal responsibility. We must develop and apply the vision of a sustainable way of life locally, nationally, regionally, globally, and within ourselves throughout life. Our cultural diversity is a precious heritage and different cultures will find their own distinctive ways to realize the vision. We must deepen and expand the global dialogue that generated the ongoing collaborative search for truth and wisdom.

Life often involves tensions between important values. This can mean difficult choices. However, we must find ways to harmonize diversity with unity, the exercise of freedom with the common good, short-term objectives with long-term goals. Every individual, family, organization, and community has a vital role to play. The arts, sciences, religions, educational institutions, media, businesses, nongovernmental organizations, and governments are all called to offer creative leadership. The partnership of government, civil society, and business is essential for an effective global governance based on global concepts and the Scale of Human and Earth Rights.

In order to build a sustainable global community, each individual, each local community, and national governments of the world must initiate their commitment to the Human Family.

Let our time be a time remembered for the awakening of a new reverence for life, the firm resolve to achieve sustainability, the quickening of the struggle for justice and peace, and the joyful celebration of life. Let our expanding consciousness blend with that of the Soul of Humanity.

Humanity welcomes the "Belief, Values, Principles and Aspirations of the Global Community" (see the Global Constitution on our website) with Faith in the Divine Will and without fears such as the fear of change. Humanity seeks meaningful experiences and embraces the future for the better. Divine Will has caused the event of the Global Community.

Our time is the age of global cooperation and symbiotical relationships. There are many different kinds of symbiotical relationships. Symbiotical relationships exist between nations of the European Union. It is mainly an economic base symbiotical relationship. Other types of symbiotical relationships maybe created all over the world between communities, nations, and between people themselves. The Global Community, the Global Governments Federation, and the Global Government of North America are examples. They may be geographical, economical, social, business-like, political, religious, and personal. There has always been symbiotical relationships in Nature, and between Souls and the matter of the universe to help creating Earth and life on Earth to better serve God.

The Global Community has begun to establish the existence of a meaningful global co-operation all over the planet. National governments and large corporations have taken the wrong direction by asserting that free trade in the world is about competing economically without any moral safeguards and accountability to peoples and the environment. The proper and only way is for free trade to become a global cooperation between all nations. Surely, if we can cooperate in fighting against terrorism, then we should also be able to cooperate in fighting against the effects of the type of free trade and the emergence of the planetary trading blocks as applied by national governments members of the World Trade Organization(WTO). It has already been shown (see Newsletters on our website) that these effects will be disastrous socially and environmentally and are a direct threat to the existence of life on Earth. The Global Community is proposing a solution that the process of trading within the planetary trading blocks be changed from a spirit of global competition to that of global economic cooperation. This is the new way of doing business, the new way of life.

The Global Community has made clear that globalization and planetary trading blocks should be serving the Human Family and not the other way around, the people around the world serving the very few rich individuals. The September 11 event was the result of bad trading of arms and oil and the absence of moral responsibility and accountability in our way of doing business with the Middle East nations. By applying proper moral safeguards and accepting responsibility and accountability of all products (arms and oil in this case), from beginning to end where they become wastes, each corporation would make free trade and globalization serving the Human Family. The September 11 event was also a turning point in human history and indicated the end of the last superpower in the world and the birth of the Global Community. Over its long past history trade has never evolved to require from the trading partners to become legally and morally responsible and accountable for their products from beginning to end. At the end the product becomes a waste and it needs to be properly dispose of. Now trade must be given a new impetus to be in line with the global concepts of the Global Community. When you do exploration work, and develop, manufacture, produce, mine, farm or create a product, you become legally and morally responsible and accountable of your product from beginning to end (to the point where it actually becomes a waste; you are also responsible for the proper disposable of the waste). This product may be anything and everything from oil & gas, weapons, war products, construction products, transportation and communications products and equipment, to genetically engineered food products. All consumer products! All medical products! All pharmaceutical products! In order words, a person (a person may be an individual, a community, a government, a business, an NGO, or an institution) becomes responsible and accountable for anything and everything in his or her life.

Certainly an important action has been for the Canadian Government to ratify the Kyoto Protocol as it is. No more waiting! Time for action is now! We are all responsible for the creation of global warming, and there are plenty of observable effects. Greenhouse gases are accumulating dangerously in the Earth's atmosphere as a result of human activities, and temperatures are rising globally due to these activities. Climate changes have to be manage without delays and the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol is only the beginning of a long fight for the protection of life on Earth. There is much more to be done to even come close to what we have to do. The ratification was only the beginning to help save the next generations.

Global consumption is a very important aspect of globalization. Consumers should be concerned with the impact of their decisions on the environment but also on the lives, human and Earth rights and well-being of other people. Since one of the key functions of families as a social institution is to engage in production (selling their labour in return for wages) and consumption (using those wages to buy goods and services), then the role of families has impacts on sustainable consumption and development. Corporations are required to expand their responsibilities to include human and Earth rights, the environment, community and family aspects, safe working conditions, fair wages and sustainable consumption aspects. Global Community has summarized the rights of every person on Earth by developing the Scale of Human and Earth Rights. The scale will eventually be replacing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Global Constitution established all rights.

Just as corporations have social responsibilities and so do consumers in societies. Consumers are socialized to improve the quality of their lives. Quality of life is a multi-dimensional, complex and very subjective concept. For instance, someone who has changed their consumption habits to better ensure that their choices will make a better quality of life for themselves, the environment and future generations, may be seen by others as having a lower or inferior quality of life since they have removed themselves from the materialistic mainstream characteristic of our consumer society. Someone may feel that an absence of violence and abuse in their life leads to a higher quality of living even though they have fewer tangible resources, money, or shelter; peace of mind and freedom from abuse has increased the quality of their daily life relative to what it was like before. There are universal quality of life values which lead to "human betterment" or the improvement of the human condition. In addition to the value of species survival (human and other living organisms), they include: adequate resources, justice and equality, freedom, and peace or balance of power. A better quality of life for all people of the Global Community Earth Government is a goal for all of us and one of our universal values.

Global Community found that an adequate level of health care is a universal value as well as a human right. We expect adequate health services to be accessible, affordable, compassionate and socially acceptable. We believe that every individual of a society is co-responsible for helping in implementing and managing health programmes along with the government and the public institutions.

Being unified under the Soul of Humanity, Divine Will, God the Spirit and the Human Family dissolve all barriers and expand our global consciousness. We become more whole and complete within ourselves and as a group. Our common Spirit is able to resolve planetary problems in a coherent way. One common 'global Vision' allows us to see how all the parts of the whole relate to each other. We have the right relationship with one another, with all lifeforms and Earth itself, and with the Soul of Humanity, the Divine Will and God the Spirit.

On May 26, let us all celebrate life in our heart, mind and Spirit. Let us thank God for the gift of life.

Cultural Appreciation Day August 22 of each year

On August 22 of every year the Global Community celebrates the Global Cultural Day, the Cultural Appreciation Day. The event's theme is "Culture, Values and Social Development."

Noting that culture and development are not mutually exclusive, event organizers are asked to promote a union between historical preservation and future local - global growth. The Global Community is rich with tradition and art. Culture is certainly tangible - churches, temples and monuments; and intangible - heritage with performing arts, fine arts or visual arts. Every community is based on a society distinctly different from any other country and its people.

The Cultural Appreciation Day celebration.

The Cultural Appreciation Day celebration promotes the meaning of culture, the real nature of Humanity and what inhibits its development.

It is for all, regardless of education, age, race, political or religious beliefs. The idea of the Cultural Appreciation Day celebration is that Humanity in truth is limitless, and that there is a unity underlying all the apparent diversity in our daily lives.

Activities

Activities during the celebration may include mask making, cooking, singing, music, dance/drama, and puppet making by and for the children.

The day provides vendors, live entertainment, children's activities, and food in celebration of the various cultural groups.

The Cultural Appreciation Day celebration occurs at the same time and is an important part of the Global Exhibition.

For the third year since the first time ever promoting of a Global Exhibition, there is a Global Exhibition at the time of Global Dialogue 2008, and at the same site in Nanaimo. It is also occurring everywhere else in the world along with Global Dialogue 2008. People of all nations are asked to organize a Global Exhibition during the period August 17 - August 22 of each year.

Global Community

I am Germain Dufour, Spiritual Leader of the Global Community, and President of Earth Government, the Federation of Global Governments. In the coming months we will be producing educational videos. We are using this media to educate everyone about the values, ideas, global concepts, new ways of doing things, beneficial to us all and to all life on our planet. So our intentions are not only humanitarian but also to protect all life. We want to give humanity, all life, this generation and the next ones, a better chance of survival on our beautiful, gorgeous Earth. Earth is unique. Earth has an abundance of different life species worth knowing, understanding and protecting.

Our diverse Earth civilizations are also truly worth knowing, understanding and protecting.

Our numerous recordings are designed to explain in details the new ways of doing things and of coping with global problems that are affecting all of our lives.

A global problem such as the global financial crisis is really a problem we have discussed and explained on our website over and over again for the past decade. It is a part of the global crisis that triggered the Planetary State of Emergency. We will explain in details the proper way of doing things as they relate to the global financial crisis.

At the end of this video there is a description of the different issues we will be going over with in the coming months.

For now, I will say something about myself for those of you who are new to the Global Community organization.

I was born in 1947 in a small town called Port Alfred in the Province of Quebec in Canada. I grew up there until age 5 and my family moved to Sorel of the same province where I spent my teens.

My life was of no consequences for many years. I failed high school and travelled across Canada, the United States and Mexico. Later I moved to Victoria, in the province of British Columbia. And in 1971, I decided to start all over again and completed my High School and College education. I graduated from Camosum College in 1972, and obtained a Bachelor of Sciences degreee in Physics with a major in Astronomy from the University of Victoria in 1976, and a Master of Sciences degree in Physics from the University of Quebec at Trois Rivieres in 1982. I specialized in understanding the structure and origin of the Universe. I started PhD work in 3 different universities across Canada. Although I never completed a PhD, but did the course load at each university, I have conducted research in cosmology, cosmogony and nuclear physics. For personal reasons, I have never actually completed a PhD.

Over the years I successfully started several businesses, consulting firms, and worked as Energy Analyst, Environmental Consultant, Environment Auditor, and Health and Safety Consultant. I have created and registered the Society for World Sustainable Development. I have created other not-for-profit organizations but never really taken the time to further develop them, except for the Global Community organization which I thought was most important for humanity's future, for all life on our planet.

From 1985 on, I became very much aware of world problems and where we were heading as a world population. I found that there was a need for more understanding and activism to educate everyone on better ways of doing things. It was then that I took up the challenge of further developing the Global Community organization.

Through my business, Global Community WebNet, I have developed a course to teach Environmental Auditing and Assessment of properties, such as private homes, as well as commercial and industrial properties. The Federal Government of Canada of that time even bought the course to be used for teaching at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, Alberta. Shortly afterward, the University of Calgary had its own program to offer. CMHC, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, also got my program and started its own auditing of properties. I was surprised to see someone from the Federal Government actually coming into my home and buying my work for practically nothing. It was only later on that I understood what people wanted to do with it. But this initiative was actually a tangible success in my life. I thought I can create something the world needed.

A very long course indeed, 8 months long, covering all aspects. I taught the course in a special area of the University of Calgary Library.

For the first time ever there was a course on the environmental auditing and assessment of properties, land assessment, pollution evaluation, remediation and restoration of buildings and land, and the protection of the environment.

This experience taught me that if I persevere in standing up for what I strongly believe is right then I will eventually succeed. Later on Global Community WebNet became Global Community WebNet Ltd. which is now the only federally incorporated business I have kept alive over the years.

This whole idea of teaching the world about global concepts was born that day in my mind. It was becoming a reality, a success.

In 1985, I developed and defined the global concepts of 'Global Community' and 'Global Dialogue', and established a Global Dialogue between people, businesses, communities and nation governments. The global concepts are concerned about:

A) humanity resolving global problems in a peaceful way for the benefit of all Peoples and Life on Earth;

B) promoting Peace in the world through dialogue;

C) finding sound and equitable solutions to local and global problems; and

D) helping humanity survive this Century, taking along and protecting as much as possible other lifeforms.

I developed a method to measure environmental, social and economic indicators and to evaluate global societal sustainability.

I developed policies, strategies and legislative documents for the Earth Community Organization (ECO), the Global Community.

I proposed to replace the United Nations (U.N.) with the Federation of Global Governments, Earth Government, a governing body based on democracy for all Peoples on Earth.

I established the process to obtain the ECO Award, Global Citizenship, and the Certified Corporate Global Community Citizenship (CCGCC).

Global Community WebNet Ltd., a federal corporation of Canada, was the first corporation on Earth to qualify and obtain the Award, and is a unique way to show the world that our ways of doing business are best for the Global Community.

Along with thousands of participants and volunteers, I conducted the research and development of humanity's new vision which is about living a life and seeing the world through the:

  •     Scale of Global Rights;
  •     Politics and Justice without borders;
  •     Life is protected by Global Law;
  •     Global Citizens Rights, Responsibility and Accountability Act;
  •     Statement of Rights, Responsibilities and Accountabilities of a Person and the Global Community;
  •     Building of global symbiotical relationships between people, institutions, cities, provinces and nations of the world;
  •     Global Constitution;
  •     Portal of the Global Civilization;
  •     Global Protection Agency;
  •     Global Movement to Help and serve the people of all nations, all life on Earth;
  •     Global Justice Movement for all life;
  •     Global Peace Movement;
  •     Movement for Cultural Appreciation;
  •     Global Movement for Disarmement;
  •     Global Referendum and Voting on issues;
  •     Global Citizenship;
  •     Global Dialogue;
  •     Global Laws and Regulations;
  •     Global criteria for sovereignty;
  •     Global Information Media (GIM);
  •     Global Security for all life; and
  •     Global Data Measurement and Assessment.

Back in 1985, I remember having accomplished my first 'soft activism'. It was such a memorable day for me as I actually stood up for a worthy cause: the protection of humanity's heritage, the protection of all life on Earth, and the protection of the global life-support systems. Being a scientist I extended my principles to include standing up for them in public. This was in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. And the day was October 29. I produced a brochure explaining everything I stood up for. Those who know me can easily imagine how meticulously long the brochure may have been.

Then I went to the University of Calgary campus and distributed the brochure to anyone I met. I also posted the brochure on bulletin boards. City Hall and several other public places got my message. I was very proud of having done it. My first very intense exploration of my own capability of reaching out to others and standing up for workable sound solutions to global problems. That day I became one with myself and all life on Earth. I became 'a Global Community'.

From there on I produced countless brochures and investigative reports; organized public seminars; and I was invited to give talks in schools.

Again back in 1985, I have researched and developed several new global concepts no one had ever thought about. One of them was the expression "the Global Community". As usual, being a scientist, I gave it a long and technical definition. Later on in the 1990's, after having met a marvelous woman whom I married, Virginie, we gave the definition a more popular and easy to grasp meaning. Actually Virginie had a lot to do with this new version.

Virginie and I had countless brain-storming exercises in the Rocky Mountains. She and I have defined the Global Community around a given territory, that territory being the planet as a whole, as well as a specific population, which is the Global Community.

Conservation, restoration, and management of Earth resources is about asking ourselves the question of "Who owns the Earth?" The large gap between rich and poor is connected to ownership and control of the planet's land and of all other Earth natural resources.We, the Global Community, must now direct the wealth of the world towards the building of local-to-global economic democracies in order to meet the needs for food, shelter, universal healthcare, education, and employment for all.

The Global Community has proposed a democracy for the people based on the fact that land, the air, oil, minerals, other natural resources rightly belong to the Global Community. The Earth is the birthright of all life.

The Global Social-Economic Model proposed by the Global Community is truly the best response to the world.

One of the very powerful tools to communicate our ideas and having everyone to participate in the discussions has been the Global Dialogue. The idea of creating global dialogues was first brought forward in a report on global changes I published in 1990.

The report contained 450 policies (workable sound solutions) on sustainable development, and was presented to the United Nations, the Government of Canada, the provincial government of Alberta and several non-profit organizations and scientists. There was a need at the time for helping humanity back onto the path of survival this millennium. There is still a need for such help and most likely will continue to be so forever. Global dialogues are the source of new ideas and finding new ways for our survival and taking along with us other lifeforms on the planet.

Today, the people of the Earth Community, the Global Community, are using global dialogues to resolve conflicts, promote democracy, and fight hunger, terrorism, disease, and global rights abuses. In order to bring about the event of peace, the Global Community is offering other organizations around the world to work together to bring warring parties to peace.

Since its beginning in 1985, many accomplishments can be claimed by the Global Community.

As an organization, we do own all of what I mentioned as ours because we were the first in establishing them, defining them and promoting them on a monthly basis with Newsletters, press releases and letters. Thousands of people and organizations have been using our materials for all kinds of purposes. Many sell T-shirts, flags, etc. with our expressions on them. We have nothing to do with such activities. Some even use the expression 'Earth Government' to send blogs over the Internet. That also has nothing to do with us. We dont approve of such disrespectful use of our material. I also noticed a movie titled "The Day the Earth Stood Still" with director Scott Derrickson and one of the actors being Keanu Reeves. They used our global concept of the sphere we have called the glass bubble concept of defining the expression "a global community". Many of our ideas were used in the movie. Noone has ever asked for our permission and we were never given credit for those ideas by the producers Erwin Stoff, Gregory Goodman, Paul Harris Boardman. These ideas are our creative work and they took us years to develop.

The definition of the Global Community concept is truly the 21st century "philosophy of life" framework, some called it the religion of the third millennium, others called it the politics of the future generations now. Let us remind everyone the definition that has been guiding us throughout the years:

"The Global Community is defined as being all that exits or occurs at any location at any time between the Ozone layer above and the core of the planet below."

This is the fundamental definition of the expression "Global Community" first defined by myself and my wife Virginie in 1985 and later in the 1990s.

This definition includes all people, all life on Earth. It also implicitly says that no-one in particular owns the Earth but we all own it together. Not just us people, but all life on Earth owns it.

The Global Community has the power to make the laws of the land and to make the rules for the territory of the Earth. Global Law has been and continue to be researched and developed for this purpose. The Scale of Global Rights is now in force as the guiding principle for the application of global law. The Global Protection Agency enforces the law.

The beginning of life stretches as far back as 4 billion years, and so Life claims its birthright of ownership of Earth, and so does the Soul of all Life, the Soul of Humanity. Throughout the global dialogues the land ownership of the Earth has meant ownership of the land and of all other Earth natural resources.

"A global community" is not about a piece of land you acquired by force or otherwise. One could think of a typical community that does not have to be bounded by a geographical or political border. It can be people living in many different locations all over the world. The Global Community is thus more fluid and dynamic. We need to let go the archaic ways of seeing a community as the street where we live and contained by a border. Many conflicts and wars will be avoided by seeing ourselves as people with a heart, a mind and a Soul, and as part of a community with the same.

The old concept of a community being the street where we live in and surrounded by a definite geographical and political boundary has originated during the Roman Empire. Humanity has lived with this concept over two thousand years. Peoples from all over the world are ready to kill anyone challenging their border. They say that this is their land, their property, their 'things'. This archaic concept is endangering humanity, all life on Earth, and its survival. The Roman Empire has gone but its culture is still affecting us today. We need to let go the old way of thinking. We need to learn of the new concept, and how it can make things work in the world.

A typical community may be what a group of people, together, wants it to be. It can be a group of people sharing with the same values. It can be a group of people with the same cultural background, or the same religious background. Or they can be people with totally different backgrounds and beliefs.

The people making a global community may be living in many different locations on the planet. With today's communications it is easy to group people in this fashion. It can be a village, or two villages together where people have decided to unite as one community. The two villages may be found in different parts of the world. It can be a town, a city, or a nation. It can be two or more nations together.

Following this thinking we see land ownership is no longer a problem. The Earth and all its natural resources belong to all the "global communities" contained therein. A village, or a city is "a global community" and owns the land around its boundaries. Along with the Global Community, it has ownership of all natural resources within its boundaries. Land here, by definition, covers all naturally occurring resources like surface land, the air, minerals deposits (gold, oil and gas etc), water, electromagnetic spectrum, the forests, fish in the seas and rivers. It is unjust to treat land as private property or a commodity. Land is not a product of labor. Everyone should therefore be given equal access to all natural resources.

On the global level the Law of the Seas Covenant is an example of a global community lease payment basis for public needs as it has affirmed that ocean resources are the common heritage of all and a proper source of funding for global institutions. Water belongs to the Earth and all species and is sacred to life therefore, the world’s water must be conserved, reclaimed and protected for all future generations and its natural patterns respected. Water is a fundamental human right and a public trust to be guarded by all levels of government; therefore, it should not be commodified, privatized or traded for commercial purposes. These rights must be enshrined at all levels of government. In particular, an international treaty must ensure these principles are noncontrovertable.

Water is best protected by local communities and citizens, who must be respected as equal partners with governments in the protection and regulation of water. Peoples of the Earth are the only vehicle to promote democracy and save water.

Similarly, all Earth natural resources belong to all the global communities to be used, developed and protected for the maximum benefit of the people and all life.

And October 29 is a special day to claim that right, our birth right of ownership of the Earth. Let us celebrate on that special day!

Let us have a look at the financial crisis.

The following figure shows a horizontal axis for time stretching from year 1945 to 2011, and a vertical axis for money spent by the USA and its military, and NATO allies, or G8 nations. We also show major events occuring during that period.

The Global Crisis
Artwork by Germain Dufour
October 20, 2008
1985
Global revolution started in 1985. The Global Community was created by the people, for the all life on Earth. Global concepts were researched and developed, Earth activities were organized, global law and regulations were developed to protect humanity, ecosystems and global life-support systems. In April 2008, a planetary state of emergency was declared by the Global Community Peace Movement to make the world aware of the global crisis. Shortly afterward the Global Movement to Help was organized to serve and help people from all nations, all life on Earth. A long-term solution was also proposed in the form of the Federation of Global Governments.

1990
In 1990, the United Nations help developed and promoted the global concept of sustainable development. Today this concept is obviously loosing out as all nations struggle for resources. The United States was first in shotting down the concept by its invasion of nations to acquire Earth resources. The Global Community concept is a better replacement for the concept of sustainable development. And the Federation of Global Governments is certainly a better fit to replace the United Nations organization.

9/11
2001

On 9/11 the USA was already bankrupted financially, economically, morally, socially, environmentally, and internationally by the US White House corrupted governance. Governance was seen as the USA new world order. Those at the helm were the big corporate rulers, the White House, war industry, and Christian right. Same people as those running NATO organization, and the G8 nations. By not having a Constitution the EU falls under this category, and so do NAFTA and FTAA organizations. History now shows it was the economic and military invasion of the Middle East and Afghanistan that prompted freedom fighters to bring their message to the USA on 9/11. The world is ruled by a few elites whose only goal is the acquisition of wealth for themselves, these elites monopolized the means of production, the global economy, financial institutions such as banks, the IMF and the World Bank, and they also monopolized culture and education through the media industry which they own. People of the developing countries and middle class people of the developed countries now live in extreme poverty and are not guaranteed even the basic right of subsistence and freedom, let alone the right to enjoy modern science, technology, culture and education.

2008
Truly, the US financial crisis had an early beginning in 1945 when a few elites from the White House, war industry, the military and Christian right decided to build the most powerful military organization in the world at the expense of American taxpayers, mostly from the middle class, and at the expense of the global environment and all life on Earth. Greed and wants of the rich elite had no limits, and that has caused and created a huge deficit and national debt to Americans. On September 15, 2008, the world witnessed the beginning of the collapse of Wall Street, but Americans were already bankrupted on that day. The astronomically high military expenditures caused America to be bankrupted. The love-relationship Americans have with their military was not to be blamed for the collapse, and so Wall Street and financial institutions took all the blame. Even Main Street was accused of wrong doing. But not the military!?!! Directly or indirectly, over half the population of the US works for the military, and that explains a lot of things. This American cowboy style mentality and economic warfare has spread all over the world. People see working for the military as a salvation. Poverty, large wealth gap between rich and poor, between the industrialized nations and the developing nations have been at the origin of conflicts and wars, and now the financial crisis showed the world in a flash corruption of the US White House which created this situation.

The US market took a great hit and pulled the global markets down. The US-style de-regulated corporate capitalism thrives on empowering the most powerful and enriching the richest. Power and wealth never percolates down to the ordinary people, the middle class, not to those who dont work for the war industry. The few elites from the G8 nations have allowed a de-regulated Wall Street to collapse on its own and swapping off most people savings in the process, pension funds, and retirement funds. Millions of people lost their homes.

In November 2008, EU President-in-Office Sarkozy and US Administration have proposed a series of summits on global governance, involving first the G8 and then extending to include G20 nations. They are proposing the creation of a new global financial system or new Bretton Woods. The aim must be to overhaul capitalism, not by questioning the idea of a market economy but observing certain principles. If our world leaders, the few elites, have their way again, the world will have some sort of expanded WTO, NAFTA, or G8 nations with an unlimited power over the economies of the world. A world anti-government! No less! If we believe the EU and G8 leaders, the world will become a large casino playground with principles. NATO will be asked to protect such a system. A new world order! Governance at its best! Money is all that counts! The big corporate rulers, the war industry, and Christian right will be fully protected. Actually we will be back to the aftermath of WWII when the US Administration of the time decided to build the biggest military force in the world at the expenses of its taxpayers, the environment and all life on the planet. So we are back to the future once more.

2009
Now in 2009, the worst that could have happened is happening. The bad guys from Wall Street and banks got a bail out. The military has been exonerated from all charges. Many public and private institutions are now under the protection of the US Adminstration with taxpayers moneys.

Change?! President Obama said that word so many times during the Primaries and the US election. He said he will restraint powerful lobbyist groups from influencing the White House decisions. That was just political small talk. He does not have a say on that matter. The facts are that during the very first months of the Primaries Obama already bent down to the two strongest lobbyist groups of the USA:
1)      the military,
2)      pro-Israel AIPAC.
So much for Peace and diplomacy, and protecting life on our planet ! The only thing that could save Americans from being just a ' wasteland nation ' with no moral values is the creation of a Peace Department in your government, and have the courage to make it the strongest one.

The military is no replacement to the " will of the people ", democracy, the rule of law, social justice, and to Global Rights and Global Justice. The Global Community has no need of a subversive military force. NATO must be subject to the people, the Global Community, and to the Federation of Global Governments. When you associate yourself with the USA, through NATO, a nation that has created a link in a 737-strong chain of American military bases in 130 countries, you become one of them. Those military bases are there for many reasons. They are mainly there for resources. They are also there to invade, destroy, kill, corrupt governments, and de-stabilize the world. The Earth cannot afford to be subject to the military NATO systematic destruction of life on the planet.

Even bad polluting businesses such as the the Big Three of the US car manufacturing industry have received a bail out from the White House. It is an same industry that built cars and trucks with engines being a prime cause of global warming and climate change. It is not only one of the worst industry in the world but for decades its CEOs and engineering managers have been given the technology to build energy efficient engines and even engines with zero pollution. They never, never wanted to change and instead chose to pollute the planet. And now they are still not willing to change even though the US Administration is paying their bills. What is wrong with Americans?! Can't you do anything right?!

What comes next? What other powerful lobbyist groups will be asking for help and get their bills paid by the White House? America has been bankrupted for over a decade. The dollar is not worth the paper it is written on. And yet the White House keeps printing money by the trillions, the trillions, and hand those dollars to the worst polluters on the planet: the military, the energy industry, the car manufacturing industry. The White House is basically telling polluters to take the money and keep polluting, you're doing fine, you're an American.

Makes no sense! President Obama is the YES man of the decade to come. He listens to the strongest lobbyist groups of the USA and give them trillions of bankrupted dollars. Even the IMF and the World Bank are getting trillions of those bankcrupted dollars to spend. No wonder a bankrupt America can spread very quickly to the rest of the world. American values are the sticky gum attached to the dollars. The White House says take the money and spend it, consume the Earth natural resources, go bankrupt with us. This way the White House makes everyone guilty of their crimes. Clever but it makes no sense at all to the future generations and all life on our planet.

 Bad financial fundamentals, out-of-control stock market, and astronomically high military expenditures have contributed to the bankruptcy of the US economy. Through its military , the IMF and World Bank, its lies and bullying tactics at the United Nations, the White House has spread its fundamentally wrong phylosophie and democratic governance to the rest of the world. And that is threatening the security of all life on the planet.

Thank you.

Let us have a look at the social-economic crisis.

Truly, our world is not governed by democratically elected governments. It is ruled by global financial institutions in the service of financial speculators who exchange trillions of dollars daily in search of instance unearned profits to increase the wealth, and the power, of the richest people on the planet. They bring down governments that displease them, and buy and sell the largest corporations like commodities. By design and law the defining priority and obligation of these governing institutions is to generate financial profits to make rich people richer, in short to increase inequality in a world in desperate need of greater equity.

We need to grow strong caring communities in which we get more of our human satisfaction from caring relationships and less from material goods. We will need to end war as a means of settling international disputes and dismantle our military establishment. We need to reclaim the ideal of being a democratic middle-class people without extremes of wealth and poverty.

Truly, we are at the crossroads of the most serious economic and social crisis in modern history, far deeper than the financial crisis itself. In a flash, people saw the worst of humanity, what was hidden behind Wall Street, greed and mindless consumption, and people ready to do anything to keep things the way they are now.

Labour rights are abused in efforts to earn more profits. This leads to abhorrent working conditions, job insecurity and low living standards (all global rights). The WTO and NAFTA are such organizations promoting free trade at the expense of labour rights and the environment. Consumers in developed countries have been socialized to want more and more things to consume but have not been socialized to appreciate the impact of their consumption choices on the global rights of other people; that is, they are not being responsible for their decisions.

We need to realize what is a priority, what is the most important, and what is the least important for our survival. We need to make hard choices. We need a clear vision. We need a common vision. And we must all change! There are many important aspects of our lives we can no longer do, or should never do anymore. They are destructive. Humanity and all life can no longer afford activities that destroy life and the global environment, and certainly the military is a major one of them. And there are other activities we must do, thousands of them, to assure the survival of life on Earth. In view of the planetary state of emergency, which we declared a shorth while ago, we all must change, we must do things differently to give life on Earth a better survival chance.

This social-economic crisis can be resolved by asking ourselves the fundamental question:

Who owns the Earth ?

Is the Earth owned by
Big corporate rulers?
Wall Street?
G8 nations?
the military and NATO?
Christian right?
or
by the Global Community, all life on Earth?

( see enlargement )
Who owns the Earth ?
Artwork by Germain Dufour
October 19, 2008

How the Earth should be owned is the major economic question of this time. The world should be owned not just by the people living in it but by all life on Earth and the Soul of Life, the Soul of Humanity.

Along with ownership comes the obligation of using the resources, share them or lose them. Land and all other Earth natural resources are not commodities. Use the land, share it or lose it. This principle also applies to banks and similar institutions all over the world and to Wall Street. You own property because the previous owners could not pay. Use that property, share it or lose it. The Global Community needs to build an economic democracy based firmly on the basic principle that the Earth belongs equally to everyone as a birthright.

The Earth and all its natural resources belong to all the "global communities" along with the Global Community where they are found.

Let us have a look at global governance

 Major factors have caused the global crisis which triggered the planetary state of emergency declared by the Global Community. An important factor is the disconnected with reality, unfair and corrupted governance focusing only on finances, trade and consumption.

The US White House has been running a deficit of nearly a half trillion dollars for a long period of time, and now this deficit will be over one trillion dollar this year. Americans have accumulated a nation debt of over 10 trillion dollars. Such state of affairs is actually that of a bankrupted nation. The high deficit was caused in large part by the huge military expenditures, the US war industry. Directly or indirectly, more than half the population of the United States work for the industry.

The global financial crisis has propelled the French Leader and EU Leader to go all around the world to organize a Summit in November 2008, the Summit of all G8 nations, the most industrialized nations, and G20 nations, and 'fix' the crisis.

Now all these G20 leaders are interested in fixing their economies, not the global crisis. They are insterested in money, the stock market, not the people of  the world, all life on Earth,  the future of the next generations, or the environment. A money fix will not solve the problem. Money is used to deal with goods as an exchange between people, businesses and governments in the world. The problem is not money. The problem is the amount of goods being taken from the Earth, exchanged and consumed, and all the pollution associated with this process. The problem is the fundamentally wrong economic system created to allow these exchanges to occur for the benefit of a few rich people on the planet and at the expenses of an overpopulated world, the poor and the middle class people, 6.7 billion people, and at the expenses of all life on Earth, the environment, and the global life-support systems. A money fix is not the solution.

They will also talk about NATO's future and how the organization can be used to rule the world under the leadership of the G8 nations. A fundamentally bad new world order.

The main intergovernmental bodies including the United Nations, the Bretton Woods institutions, the World Trade Organizations (WTO), the European Union (EU), and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) have all endorsed the New World Order on behalf of their corporate sponsors.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), a military alliance of democratic states in Europe and North America, is the official protector of the corporate sponsors.

Governments in both developed and developing countries have abandoned their historical role of regulating key economic variables as well as ensuring a minimum livelihood for their people. They are no longer sustainable locally. The United Nations failed to make sustainable development a priority in every community on the planet. The global concept of sustainable development that was brought forward in the late 1980s has failed. The US failed it in a big way and the United Nations would not or could not hold on to it.

We are dealing with a complex and centralized constellation of economic power in which the instruments of market manipulation have a direct bearing on the lives of billions of people. The prices of food, water, fuel are determined at the global level, beyond the reach of national government policy. The price hikes of these three essential commodities constitute an instrument of economic warfare, carried out through the free market. These hikes in the prices of food, water and fuel are contributing in a very real sense to eliminating the poor through starvation deaths. The sugar coated bullets of the free market kill our children. The act to kill is instrumented in a detached fashion through computer program trading on the commodity exchanges, where the global prices of rice, wheat and corn are decided upon.

We live in a world where all natural and human resources are exploited mercilessly, so that a small minority can consume far more than their rightful share of the world's real wealth. Those at the helm, the big corporate rulers, are getting bail-outs in this financial crisis, not Main Street. Now, as we push the exploitation of the Earth social and environmental systems beyond their limits of tolerance, we face the reality that the industrial era faces a burnout, because it is exhausting the human and natural resource base on which our very lives depend.

Living at the crossroads of this global crisis, we must hasten its passage, while assisting in the birth of a new civilization, the global civilization, based on life affirming rather than money affirming values. All over the world people are indeed waking up to the truth. We should strive and take steps to reclaim and rebuild our local economy. Be sustainable locally first, and globally next only if needed. Let go the WTO, NAFTA or any free trade agreement.

It should also be our goal to create locally owned enterprises that sustainably harvest and process local resources to produce jobs, goods and services. Ideally our economy should be local; rooting power in the people and communities who realize their well being depends on the health and vitality of their local ecosystem. We should favor local firms and workers, who pay local taxes, live by local rules, respect and nurture the local ecosystems, compete fairly in local markets, and contribute to community life. Labour should not be taxed but pollution should. The exploitation and use of natural resources should also be taxed.

A global economy empowers global corporations and financial institutions, local economies empower people. It is our consciousness, our ways of thinking and our sense of membership in the Global Community, which should be global. Life is about living, not consuming. A life of material sufficiency can be filled with social, cultural, intellectual and spiritual abundance that place no burden on the planet. It is time to assume responsibility for creating a new future of just and sustainable societies free from the myth that competition, greed and mindless consumption are paths to individual and collective fulfillment.

Global governance does not imply a lost of state sovereignty and territorial integrity. A nation government exists within the framework of an effective Global Community protecting common global values and humanity heritage.

Global governance is a balance between the rights of states with rights of people, and the interests of nations with the interests of the Global Community, the human family, the global civil society.

Global governance is about the rights of states to self-determination in the global context of the Global Community rather than the traditional context of a world of separate states.

The political system of an individual country does not have to be a democracy. Political rights of a country belong to that country alone. Democracy is not to be enforced by anyone and to anyone or to any global community. Every community can and should choose the political system of their choice with the understanding of the importance of such a right on the Scale of Global Rights.

Another important aspect of global governance is the security of a person and of a nation.

Security must be achieved by other means than conflicts and wars. We might as well shelved the war industry from humanity right now and that means phasing out all nuclear, biological, chemical weapons right now. Governments that have weapons of masss destruction (WMDs) are all terrorist governments. The Global Community is asking them to disarm. No waiting!

Security is a global right. The Global Community has broadened the traditional focus of the security of nations to include both the security of people as well as that of the planet. Global security policies include:

*     every person on Earth has a right to a secure existence, and all states have an obligation to protect those rights
*     military force is not a legitimate political instrument
*     weapons of mass destruction are not legitimate instruments of national defence
*     all nations should sign and ratify the conventions to eliminate nuclear, chemical and biological weapons
*     the production and trade in arms should be listed as a criminal act against humanity;
*     the development of military capabilities is a potential threat to the security of people and all life on Earth;
*     anticipating and managing crises before they escalate into armed conflicts and wars
*     maintaining the integrity of the environment and global life-support systems
*     managing the environmental, economic, social, political and military conditions that threatened the security of people and the planet

Let us have a look at the nationalization of natural resources and global taxation on the use of those resources.

In order to better protect life on our planet, the Global Community is asking people of all nations to defend and protect their natural resources. In particular, all the hydrocarbons within a national territory must be nationalized. It is an obligation, not only of a national government, but also of all the active forces in a country; it is the duty of local and municipal authorities, the duty of state authorities – of everyone – to take upon themselves this defense and this recuperation of natural resources.

Nationalization is a necessity because American corporations have been buying local corporations to acquire natural resources of a country. This state of affairs has been going on ever since WWII. Over the past decades, the US national debt and annual deficit have been out-of-control because of a complete business freedom of the US corporate world. No taxation! When a large corporation is about to go out of business, the White House intervened with a bail out.

For example in Canada, the property of the hydrocarbons, the oil and natural gas, and tarsands, have mostly owned by American and other foreign corporations. Our natural resources have been bought out by foreigners. Pipelines have been built to transport the oil and natural gas to the customers in the United States without paying taxes to Canada. Canadian corporations that have been taken over by American corporations with bankrupted money, paper money, Stock Exchange money, money that Americans dont even have. The White House prints dollar bills by the trillions and give them to corporations to buy more Canadian corporations. This is no longer a fair exchange of something tangible with something else of an equivalent value. We have natural resources and Americans have bankrupted money to exchange with. That's not right! How can we let that happened? It is time to nationalize Canadian natural resources.

From this point onward, those Canadian natural resources will be under control of the Canadian people, for Canadians, and help resolve Canada’s economic and social problems.

Nationalization is not new. The global financial crisis is good example of nationalization. When Wall Street started to crash, Lehman Brothers went for bankruptcy protection, Merrill Lynch merged with Bank of America, AIG was nationalized by the U.S. Government, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were bailed out by the U.S. Government. CEO's and big investors got out okay; ordinary employees and Main Street people suffered heavily. The collapse of the Wall Street giants came six months after the meltdown of Bear Stearns and a year after the start of the credit crisis, which was due to bad mortgage financing and real estate investments. Despite all efforts, the U.S. market took a great hit and pulled the global markets down.

The US Government thought it would be wise to nationalize key financial institutions, even partially nationalized, so why not natural resources? They are in great danger of being destroyed (forests, oceans, fresh water, soils, air we breath, electromagnetic spectrum) or destroying all life on Earth (petroleum rersources). Once Canadians have recovered these natural resources, it will generate employment. The plundering of our natural resources by international and transnational oil and gas companies has come to an end. And for this reason we want to share the joy on this historic day of nationalization.

If indeed previous governments have used the Armed Forces for the benefit of transnational corporations, the Armed Forces can now be used to unite for their country, for their nation, for their patria. We are a government of the people, a native government. We are a global community. We want to ask government to defend its sovereignty, its dignity and above all the integrity of its territory, we want to ask that it take charge of all the oil fields of all of its nation.

Unless a reformed or empowered Global Community is leading firmly upon the principle of equal rights for all Global Citizens, then the planet will be controlled by a handful of vested interests.

Land is not a product of labour. Everyone should therefore be given equal access to natural resources. The Global Economic Model proposes to make private property the product of labour. Common property is all what Nature offers. The Global Economic Model policy removes taxes from wages and increases taxes and user fees on common property.

Each day taxpayers hand over astronomical amounts of money to build weapons of mass destruction, fuel dangerous and polluting technologies, and subsidize giant corporations which concentrate the wealth and power of the world in the hands of an elite few.

So the ownership of the land and the natural resources will be challenged by the Global Community. People need all tax dollars to take on the challenge but first must get out of spending on the military invasion of nations.

Similarly, all the Earth natural resources belong to the Global Community to be used, developed and protected for the maximum benefit of the people and of all life.

Global tax
The Global Community also proposes to develop a method of raising global taxes, of redistributing incomes to the poorest communities, of providing debt-free technical assistance to non-industrial and developing countries to help them out of poverty and to meet environmental and social standards.

The Global Community proposes to ask you to pay a global tax on your products. The tax would be high enough to discourage consumers from buying your products and force you to use viable alternatives. The Governments of the United States and Canada should put a high tax on all oil based products and their derivatives and certainly gasoline should have the highest tax possible. The tax would be a carbon tax for the environment and the global life-support systems.

A workable type of Tobin tax should also be in place as it is a powerful instrument to promote sustainable development and force shareholders in moving away from producing oil. A Tobin tax is a tax on all trade of currency across borders to put a penalty on short-term speculation in currencies. The tax rate should be 10 to 25 cents per hundred dollars. The proposal is important due to its potential to prevent global financial crises such as we are seeing now. Also, an estimated $500 billion per year makes it possible to meet urgent global priorities, such as preventing global warming, disease, and poverty. The tax should be managed by the Global Community and the Federation of Global Governments. In the globalized economy, there is a lack of adequate funding for global problems such as disease, poverty and hunger. Global climate change, deforestation, population growth and unemployment, declining fisheries and pollution threaten local communities worldwide. Projects which could help to address these needs and create jobs will cost more than $500 billion annually. Private donors do not meet the need, and some nations cut their aid budgets. New multilateral approaches to public finance, such as Tobin Taxes, may provide part of the answer.

Tobin-style taxes would work well:

  • On Wall Street, currency speculators trade over $2 trillion dollars each day across borders.
  • Each trade would be taxed at 0.1 to 0.25 percent of volume (about 10 to 25 cents per hundred dollars)
  • This would discourage short-term currency trades,about 90 percent speculative, but leave long-term productive investments intact.
  • The currency market would thus shrink in volume, helping to restore national economic autonomy. Nations again could intervene effectively to protect their own currency from devaluation and financial crisis.
  • Billions in revenue, estimated at $500 billion per year, would be generated.
  • Revenue could go into earmarked trust funds to fund urgent Global Community priorities.

The Global Community concept of ownership states that land and natural resources of the planet are a common heritage and belong equally to everyone, to all life on Earth, as a birthright. Products and services created by individuals are properly viewed as private property. Products and services created by groups of individuals are properly viewed as collective property.

Taxes should be designed to conserve resources and energy. Rather than taxing jobs and profits, taxes should be moved to resource use, pollution, energy consumption and to reward conservation. A community should benefit from the use of commonly held resources.

Taxes should be designed to increase employment. Moving taxes onto resources and land use and off of incomes should make people less expensive to employ. Products produced by green production methods, which tends to use fewer resources and less energy should avoid taxation. As energy costs rise, the price of labour becomes more economical, and green products which tend to encourage value-added processes, should provide more high quality, skilled jobs than resource intensive products.

Resource taxes should be assessed as early as possible. Resources should be taxed before entering the manufacturing process in order to green all aspects of the manufacturing process from extraction to the finished product. Increasing taxes on resource and energy use will encourage resource and energy efficiency, innovation, reuse, repair, recycling, and used material recovery.

Let us have a look at the new way of doing business and trade.

We are facing crises of freshwater, food, deforestation, and ocean health. We need leadership in the protection of all our natural resources. All of our natural resources are in peril because of what we do and what that does to our planet. We are facing a fresh water crisis. We are facing a food crisis. We are facing a crisis over deforestation. And we are facing crises in our oceans. While carbon emissions from fossil fuels pollute the air, so does a lot of other stuff. Now is the time to press for leadership in the protection of all our natural resources.

But all these crises are due to human activities and, truly, to our ways of doing business and trade. Our ways of consuming resources and doing things are the causes of major global problems.

We will need ways of organizing ourselves to help us live in a world with less energy and fewer material goods. We all have to develop the skills needed to survive, and we will need to recover a deep sense of community that has disappeared from many of our lives. This means abandoning a sense of ourselves as consumption machines, which the contemporary culture promotes, and deepening our notions of what it means to be humans in search of meaning. We have to learn to tell different stories about our sense of self, our connection to others, and our place in nature.

Let us ask ourselves the question:
"Who owns the Earth?"
and think about how to integrate our answer into our global social-economic system.

The Global Community has found that consumption of the Earth resources and the amount of wastes we create can be managed very differently, more efficiently, and be less destructive to the global environment. Our ways of doing business and trade can be improved upon to decrease waste and consumption of Earth resources.

Often what is called trade is really moving of resources across borders between subsidiaries of the same corporation. Nothing to do with free competition. Economic activity is centrally-managed and planned by the corporate elite. Capital move freely across borders as restrictions on the flow of money have been removed. Corporations can relocate their operations to the countries with the lowest wages, the least active unions and the lowest environmental standards. The reality is that more polluting industries are encouraged to relocate to poorer countries. A polluting industry tends to increase the chances that people in the surrounding area will have health problems. It costs less to dump a load of toxic waste in the lowest wage country.

The Global Community has developed a strategy to improve our ways of doing business and trade so as to protect all life on the planet.

New way of doing business

Competition wil only be good when corporations, the business world, has accepted the new way of doing business and obtained the Certified Corporate Global Community Citizenship

Over its long past history trade has never evolved to require from the trading partners to become legally and morally responsible and accountable for their products from beginning to end. At the end the product becomes a waste and it needs to be properly dispose of. Now trade must be given a new impetus to be in line with the global concepts of the Global Community. You manufacture, produce, mine, farm or create a product, you become legally and morally responsible and accountable of your product from beginning to end (to the point where it actually becomes a waste; you are also responsible for the proper disposable of the waste). This product may be anything and everything from oil & gas, weapons, war products, to genetically engineered food products. All consumer products. All medicinal products! All pharmaceutical products!

Rich countries manipulate trade agreements in order to ensure a profit. Their governments insist on tariffs and protectionism in areas in which they are weak. For instance, a while ago Canada and the USA have gone through the process of an economic war in the softwood industry. The imposition of a 29 percent tariff on softwood lumber by the U.S. Commerce Department showed that Canadians were duped by the Free Trade Agreement(FTA) and NAFTA. The U.S. Government protectionism is itself aimed at reducing the value of the Canadian companies just long enough for American competitors to acquire them. Many different Canadian industries have already been bought that way by US competitors. The energy sector is one of them. Free trade opens up a developing nation's economy to competition with strong, developed, well-financed, multinational corporations. In consequence, most of the local producers and manufacturers go out of business thus leaving a developing nation's economy entirely in the hands of the transnational elite. It is a form of colonization and of world anti-government. Rich countries force poorer countries to open up their markets, and then take them over.

The US White House prints out trillions of dollars, bankrupted money, and hand them over to American industries to acquire foreign corporations with resources.

Most of Canada's large corporations have been bought out in this way by the US and other foreigners. We have seen a gradual lost of Canada's sovereignty because of 'Free Trade' and the signing of the World Trade Organization (WTO) agreement. How can this be happening?! Americans were bankrupted long before the Wall Street crash. And yet American corporations have been buying Canadian corporations with money they dont even have. All on paper! The Canadian energy sector has been a major target of American buyers.

Over time Canadian corporations were created to supply oil and gas to the US, especially California. Pipelines were built throughout Canada and now feed US customers. Now that Americans own those Canadian corporations, the cost of selling the petroleum products to US customers have been lower than what Canadians actually pay for them. No income tax are paid by the US corporations on Canadian land. Basically, Canadian natural resources are being 'legally' stolen from Canada at no cost to Americans (bankrupted money) and no tax to be paid to Canada. Somewhat like what the World Bank and the IMF are doing in the world but then the US is also in charge of these two organizations. The US uses bankrupted money to supply them with the cash they need to promote American values in the world and take away Earth resources from the developing nations. This way of doing things has been going on ever since WWII. Americans are buying their way with bankrupted money.

In Canada, American corporations have the full legal protection of the WTO and NAFTA agreements. What is even worse is that the cost of security for sending the petroleum products to the US, by now US own corporations, is dumped onto Canadian taxpayers, not on the oil and gas, and pipeline corporations. How fair is that?! How is that possible?! How can we let that happened?! First American corporations buy Canadians corporations with money they dont own, bankrupted money. Then they carry Canadian natural resources through pipelines also built by Canadians taxpayers. They pay no taxes. And Canadian taxpayers are responsible of security for the transportation of the petroleum products to the US customers. Canadians are not getting a fair exchange of natural resources for fake money. They call that ' free trade '. Canadian environmental standards have to be lowered from beginning to end, from the exploration phase to development and transportation of the resources to the US customers in favour of corporations that allow more pollution into the environment and favor the violation of labour rights in the process.

Gee!!! What world are we living in?! It is the US invading Canada, legally. It is the US invading the world, developing nations, legally??!!

Let us have a look at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation ( NATO ).

The entire planet is in a state of low intensity civil war. The ruling elite profit off the exploitation of the rest of the world.

There is lack of tolerance and compassion for one another. Conflicts and wars are not sustainable. They never were. The military option, war, is against global sustainability, global right, and global peace in a big way. The worst environmental degradation happens in wars.

War is the greatest violation of global rights that one people can inflict on another. It brings deaths and injuries, starvation, diseases, millions of people losing their homes and livelihoods, and massive destruction of property. Children and teenagers are placed in internment camps, and several are often forced to serve as soldiers. War not only corrupts the morals of soldiers, it leads to a decline in the morality of the whole nation.

A nonviolent settlement to a conflict would always be more advantageous.

Wars truly make no sense! The world is too crowded and too small nowadays! And weapons too lethal! So security cannot be achieved through the military.

Resources have become the new political boundaries. Territorial conflicts has for millennium been the basis of war and mass killing of others. Throughout the ages wars have been fought over land, and other Earth natural resources. We have seen oil conflicts in the Persian Gulf, and the Caspian Sea Basin. We have seen water conflicts in the Nile Basin, the Jordan, and Indus River Basins. We have seen wars being fought over minerals and timber in Brazil, Angola, Cambodia, Columbia, Congo, Liberia, the Philippines, and Indonesia.

The view from space shows us a global landscape in which competition over resources is the governing principle behind the use of economic and military power. Truly, resources have become the new political boundaries. Democracy is an excuse to gain control over those resources by mega corporations.

Ever since WWII the big corporate rulers of the G8 nations have applied the same scenario all over the world and even using the IMF and World Bank organizations. Americans are the sponsors of those organizations, again with money they dont own, paper money, bankrupted money. Through these organizations, the White House subsidized friendly governments who help American corporations get whatever natural resources they want often at the expenses of labour rights and the environment.

The U.S.-controlled NATO has lost its purpose to continue as a defense alliance. However, its aggressive expansion is endangering world peace and the survival of life on the planet. Despite its irrelevant role, NATO has become part of the U.S. military. Becoming a NATO member proves to be a profit bonanza for U.S.-Israeli weapon industries and arm dealers. All new recruits into NATO are obliged to increase their defense budgets to modernise and enlarge their military arsenals at the expense of vital public services. These defense budgets are truly destroying the economy of a nation, creating a large annual deficit as we have seen in the US, and exhausting the planet's resources and destroying the environment. Nothing good can come out of the military build-up.

Planning, organizing and using crisis in Europe and elsewhere, the U.S. cancelled the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty (ABM) in order to locate ABMs and to lure more nations to sign up for the system.

After more than five years of murderous Occupation, the US White House is directly responsible for the premeditated killing of more than 1.3 million innocent Iraqi civilians. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians are imprisoned and tortured on regular basis, and at least 5 million Iraqis have been displaced as refugees living in appalling conditions. The entire sovereign nation of Iraq is destroyed in a premeditated act of aggression justified by outright lies. Moreover, despite the overwhelming majority of the Iraqi people’s opposition to the Occupation, the Bush regime refused to withdraw U.S. troops and mercenaries from Iraq and end the murderous Occupation of their nation.

 We, Global Citizens,  therefore affirm the following recommendations:

1.     That the US and its coalition partners immediately cease all violations of the civil, political and human rights of the people of Iraq;
2.     That the military occupation of Iraq be immediately ended;
3.     That all parties guilty of war crimes against the Iraqi people be brought to justice under Global Law; the Earth Court of Justice will prosecute the offenders;
4.     That reparations be paid by all responsible parties to the people of Iraq for the damages caused by both the war and the occupation; the amount to be paid should be no less than 8 trillion US dollars coming from the governments involved, and not from the resources of Iraq;
5.     That we work to strengthen the mobilization of the global antiwar movement;
6.     That the occupation of Palestine, Afghanistan and all other colonized areas is illegal and should be brought to an end immediately;

The Global Community is very concerned about the state of the world today and the causes that brought up so much frictions and wars between nations. The world has seen the rise of an invading world power, the USA, ever since WWII. The United Nations has never done anything to stop the invasion. The United Nations (UN) leadership has been one of a 'watcher', an observer. The UN watch the world go by, on the brink of self-destruction and of being invaded, environmentally and militarily, and you do nothing.

When has the UN ever taken side of those nations being invaded? The UN never did!

When has the UN ever stood up for the principles in the UN Charter and stopped the invaders, and at least enforced hard sanctions against the invaders? The UN never did!

The UN has been a watcher, an observer, a non-participant. And that is a crime against humanity.

The UN should never be promoting war as a solution to world problems. That alone is against global sustainability. Sustainability means no war. War is the greatest act of destruction. There is no worst action than war.

The UN is promoting a culture of violence and war, and certainly that goes against Global Sustainability and Global Peace. That is the worst thing the UN could ever to humanity. It is totally opposite to the Global Vision that the Global Community is promoting. And it is totally insane!

The UN knew America was invading the Middle East. Why has the UN not enforced hard sanctions against the USA for its bullying tactics at the UN to get what it wants? The UN leadership could have avoided the situation we have today. The UN did nothing at a critical time. The UN watched things happening. The UN is the organization where bullying takes place by those with nuclear war heads. The world is threatened by nuclear war heads. The five permanents members of the UN are allowed to bully any other nations. The USA is invading the world, and the UN can do nothing to stop them. The USA is allowed to invade other nations, change their governments, and has often made lies in speeches to the UN, to the world.

The leadership of the United Nations has failed to enforce disarmement. All weapons of mass destruction should have been phased out a long time ago. Why are the USA still holding the world hostage with its 40,000 nuclear war heads, and biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction? What has the UN ever done to help the phasing out of WMDs? Now several nations, including North Korea and Iran feel threatened just like everyone else and will refuse to be invaded. They would rather take on the US. Russia and China will also refuse to be invaded. The UN has done nothing to phase out WMDs.

Certainly we ought to disarm all nations from all weapons of mass destruction.

The Global Community stands firm on wanting to replace the United Nations with the Federation of Global Governments.

Global Community

The world is at the crossroads of the most serious economic and social crisis in modern history, far deeper than the financial crisis itself. In a flash, after the crash of Wall Street, people saw the worst of humanity, what was hidden behind Wall Street, greed and mindless consumption, and people ready to do anything to keep things the way they are now.

This social-economic crisis of our time can be resolved by asking ourselves the fundamental question:

Who owns the Earth ?
Is the Earth owned by
Big corporate rulers?
Wall Street?
G8 nations?
the military and NATO?
Christian right?
or
by the Global Community, all life on Earth?

How the Earth should be owned is the major economic question of this time.

The Global Community concept of ownership states that land and all other natural resources of the planet are a common heritage and belong equally to everyone, to all life on Earth, as a birthright.

The Earth and all its natural resources belong to all the "global communities" along with the Global Community where they are found.

The Global Community has found that consumption of the Earth resources and the amount of wastes we create can be managed very differently, more efficiently, and be less destructive to the global environment. Our ways of doing business and trade can be improved upon to decrease waste and consumption of Earth resources.

The Global Community has developed a strategy to improve our ways of doing business and trade so as to protect all life on the planet.

Business and trade must be given a new impetus to be in line with the concepts of the Global Community.

Bad financial fundamentals, out-of-control stock market, and astronomically high military expenditures have contributed to the bankruptcy of the US economy.

The White House has been running a deficit of nearly a half trillion dollars for a long period of time, and now this deficit will be over one trillion dollar this year. Americans have accumulated a nation debt of over 10 trillion dollars. Such state of affairs is actually that of a bankrupted nation. The high deficit was caused in large part by the huge military expenditures, the US war industry, incurred ever since WWII.

The global financial crisis has propelled the White House, the French Leader and EU Leader to go all around the world to organize a Summit in November 2008, the Summit of all G8 nations, the most industrialized nations, and G20 nations, and 'fix' the crisis.

These G20 leaders are interested in fixing their economies, not the global crisis. They are insterested in money, the stock market, not the people of the world, all life on Earth, and neither the future of the next generations, or the protection of the environment and of our global life-support systems. A money fix will not solve the problem. Money is used to deal with goods as an exchange between people, businesses and governments in the world. The problem is not money.

The White House prints bankrupted money, faked money, by the trillions, so money is not the problem.

The problem is that capitalism and its free market economy are fundamentally wrong.

These leaders also talk about NATO's future and how the organization can be used to rule the world under the leadership of the G8 nations. A fundamentally bad new world order.

The United Nations, the Bretton Woods institutions, the WTO, the EU, NAFTA have all endorsed the New World Order on behalf of their corporate sponsors.

And NATO is the official protector of the corporate sponsors.

All these organizations promote values that are fundamentally wrong and destructive.

The Canadian Government has recently approved a 64 billion dollars budget deficit. Something never seen in Canadian history. They say it is for Canadians and the economy. What they dont say is that most of that money has already been spent on the Canadian military and much more will be spent to buy American war products. As if the world, all life on the planet, needs more destruction.

Through the World Bank, the White House says take the money as a loan and spend it, consume the Earth natural resources, go bankrupt with us. This way the White House makes everyone guilty of their crimes. Clever but it makes no sense at all to the future generations and to all life on our planet.

The odd thing here is that developing countries have to pay back the money they borrowed from the World bank, that is from the White House. But the White House used bankrupted money, faked money to take over their resources. So in actuality the White House got their natural resources for free and the developing nations still have to pay back money. This is truly not a fair exchange of natural resources for fake money, and to have to pay back such loan to thieves.

When the White House and American corporations dont get what they want, the US military bombs communities and nations. And that is threatening the security of all people, an all life on our planet.

Security, a global right, must be achieved by other means than conflicts and wars. We might as well shelved the war industry from humanity right now and that means phasing out all nuclear, biological, chemical weapons right now. Governments with weapons of masss destruction are all terrorist governments. The Global Community is asking them to disarm. No waiting!

To protect all Peoples and life on Earth, the nationalization of natural resources has become a necessity.

Nationalization is a necessity because American corporations have been buying local corporations to acquire the natural resources of a nation. This state of affairs has been going on ever since WWII.

For example in Canada, the property of the hydrocarbons, the oil and natural gas, and tarsands, have been mostly owned by American and other foreign corporations. Our natural resources have been bought out by foreigners. The US White House prints out trillions of dollars, bankrupted money, and hand them over to American corporations to acquire foreign resources based corporation.

Pipelines have been built to transport the oil and natural gas to customers in the United States without paying taxes to Canada. Canadian corporations have been taken over by American corporations with bankrupted money, paper money, Stock Exchange money, money that Americans dont even have. The White House prints dollar bills by the trillions and give them to corporations to buy more Canadian corporations. This is no longer a fair exchange of something tangible with something else of an equivalent value. We have natural resources and Americans have bankrupted money, nothing real and tangible, to exchange with. That's not right! How can we let that happened? Gee!!! What world are we living in?! It is the US invading Canada, legally. It is the US invading the world, developing nations, legally??!!

It is time to nationalize Canadian natural resources.

Basically, Canadian natural resources are being 'legally' stolen from Canada at no cost to Americans (bankrupted money) and no tax to be paid to Canada.

From this point onward, those Canadian natural resources will be under control of the Canadian people, for Canadians, and help resolve Canada’s economic and social problems.

Nationalization is not new. The global financial crisis is a good example of nationalization. When Wall Street started to crash, the US Government thought it would be wise to nationalize key financial institutions, even partially nationalized, so why not natural resources? They are in greater danger of being destroyed or polluted (forests, oceans, fresh water, soils, air we breath, electromagnetic spectrum) or destroying all life on Earth (petroleum rersources). Once Canadians have recovered these natural resources, it will generate employment. The plundering of our natural resources by foreign oil and gas companies has come to an end. And for this reason we want to share the joy on this historic day, February 1st, of the World Movement for the Nationalization of Natural Resources.

Free trade opens up a developing nation's economy to competition with strong, developed, well-financed, multinational corporations, using fake US money. In consequence, most of the local producers and manufacturers go out of business thus leaving a developing nation's economy entirely in the hands of the transnational elite. It is a form of colonization and of world anti-government. Rich countries force poorer countries to open up their markets, and then take them over.

Most of Canada's large corporations have been bought out in this way by the US and other foreigners. We have seen a gradual lost of Canada's sovereignty because of 'Free Trade' and the signing of the WTO agreement.

Global sustainability will work when all Governments put a high tax on all oil based products and their derivatives and certainly gasoline should have the highest tax possible.

Thank you.
