2.2 The process of conducting the assessment

The assessment is a tool and a process allowing us to evaluate decisions which we feel must be made now in order to reach our objective: to sustain Earth and all of humanity. All impacts and their associated action-decisions are evaluated. A measurement of the current performance gives us a basis for comparison to see how far we are in reaching our objective.

The mathematical model was designed to cover all aspects of sustainable development. GESDI is obtained using a simple question and answer scoring method.

This report verifies our performance in achieving sustainable development in our lifestyles, habits, practices, ways of doing things and behaviors at home, at work, in the community, while shopping, and outdoors. This report is also evaluating the site, building, contaminants, pollution, community facilities, and all social, resources, environmental and economic development aspects.
